It has almost become a ritual. There are bomb-blasts in some city of India. Indians die. Media makes some noise. We write a post. Government officials mouth inanities. Sometimes they promise action. Nothing happens. Then suddenly there are blasts again somewhere in India. A sense of deja-vu prevails except that it is for real.
Five bomb blasts rocked the national capital in quick succession on Saturday evening killing at least 20 people and leaving over 100 injured. [IBN Live]
One of my colleagues in Delhi lost his brother. My own brother was in Connaught Place just two hours before the blast and luckily escaped the tragedy. Many others were not so lucky.
Since we started this blog, terrorists have killed people at will and with impunity throughout India. Be it Bangalore, Malegaon, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur or Varanasi. It seems that the government does not even pursues the investigations as we still don’t have any answers to these terrible tragedies.
UPA government has been totally ineffectual in fighting terrorism in India. It needs to be defeated on this issue alone in the next general elections. Pointing fingers at NDA’s dismissive performance on terroris does not work anymore.
The terrorists are testing the resolve of India and Indians. Either we chicken out or we take the fight to them.
